Sooke residents to receive reusable bags
The municipality of Sooke is hoping to reduce its carbon footprint by issuing every household a reusable tote. In a joint project with the Sooke Harbour Chamber of Commerce and the Sooke Rotary Club, the Sooke Economic Development Commission is buying the tote bags made of recycled material to be distributed to residents.
Liberals announce “green shift” plan

Langford and Colwood councils to discuss sewage treatment
Langford and Colwood will hold a joint council meeting next Wednesday to discuss sewage treatment options. Two years ago, the province ordered the CRD to start planning for sewage treatment, saying it is no longer appropriate for the region to dump 120 million litres a day of raw screened sewage into Juan de Fuca Strait.
